I would like to personally introduce you all to my lovely niece, Naomi Brooke Howlett. Just look into those beautiful eyes and fall in love like I have. Naomi was born on August 11, 2011. Please enjoy some of these pictures to get to know her

Here are some newer pictures that we got this week… I just wanted to make sure you saw her from week one before you get to see the beautiful baby she has blossomed to be! Also, take a look at her eyebrows. I’d like to take a poll: do you think we may have a redhead?

*love*

Another One Bites The Dust…
By: Lauren Dubell
It’s official. I have gotten married, thus losing one more “Krnavek” to a slightly less cool name (no offense, darling, but there aren’t enough consonants in a row). I know that this is shocking for most that I found someone who could handle me (it was even more of a feat if you see the dangerously handsome man that said “I do”), but it is true. After several years of dating, Chuck and I tied the knot… FINALLY!
What is even MORE shocking is that Dorothy left her visit to Australia early and Bernard skipped out on the opening season of hunting to attend the event. In fact, every brother and sister made an appearance from the Krnavek clan… and they made quite the impression. Thanks to newly-wed James Brezina’s potent moonshine, the party got pretty interesting pretty quickly.
There were real life games of “angry birds” being played with the decorations. An abnormal number of dances were made up on the spot. We were greeted with airplanes when we arrived and rolled out of the place on a decorated luggage cart! It. Was. Awesome.
For all of you who could not attend, please feel free to check out my online albums by clicking any of the pictures! If any of you did attend, please email me your pictures.

So sorry…
I hate breaking promises, but the one I broke from the last post was a big one. I am so sorry. But…USUAL LAME EXCUSE: We’ve been so busy!
After two month in Australia with Claire and her family, I’m back for a while. Now we’re busy helping Lauren with the final stages of the wedding plans…plus finishing off the remodeling we’d planned long ago! The best laid plans… It’s more than hectic around here, but I do plan on getting back “on schedule” next month. Have faith. With God, all things are possible (even though this seems more like a miracle).
Quick update and a promise
It’s been a crazy few months as many of you know. We’ve welcomed a new puppy, celebrated holidays, began plans for an October wedding, traveled to Texas, celebrated our newest PhD, helped to sell a house, traveled back home only to work on our own ”house remodel”…tired yet? Lately we’ve been enjoying having Karen, Jerome and the boys in Montana for a little R and R before they move on to Pennsylvania. And at this very moment, Bernard is being Papa in Montana while I am being Nana in Australia with Claire. Our newest granddaughter, Naomi, is due in August. Life is so very good but it has to be lived moment by moment to appreciate it. We praise God that He has given us the time and energy to be in this moment!
More to follow…
It’s been a wonderful few months
I think we’ve talked to almost everyone who checks this page regularly, so I won’t do a lot of explaining. Since North Carolina, we’ve had one amazing time. We ALL met in Texas–and what a reunion it was. There are no words to describe the joy of hearing all the noises from kids and grandkids! I’d say it rivals any music–and that’s saying a lot. If you want to check out pictures, there are plenty on facebook. Just look for Dave and/or Lauren’s photos. The only picture I’ll post is a grandparent’s dream…
Back from North Carolina
It’s been a busy summer! Lucky for you, I’m in a rush and can’t get “into” it all. Here’s the link to Laura’s blog–it’ll give you a little idea of what we’ve been up to: http://lauraak.blogspot.com/ (How’s that for passing the buck!)
Celebration after celebration…
One thing about our family is that we do enjoy a good party–and we don’t have to look far for a reason. But one month gives us lots of reasons to “party”. That’s the month of July! The celebrations just keep coming during July. Actually, it’s so packed that we begin with the eve (June 30) and creep into August (the 2nd, to be exact).
We start with the eve, 6/30, Claire’s Birthday. These days, we have to be satisfied with a phone call and the personal rendition of “Happy Birthday”. But we know that Isaac does a good job with blowing out the candles…he does it for ALL of us. And with that the marathon of celebrations begins!!! We usually remember July 3 (oh yea…Uncle Jerry’s Birthday) and July 4 (another special day, Uncle Sam’s Birthday). And then comes July 5–Dave and Laura’s anniversary. How could we ever forget that celebration in Alaska! It seems like just yesterday… But we’ve only just begun.
We get a break on the 6th, just long enough to regroup! And then comes 7/7 (we’re all about those numbers). Stephen has officially “grown up”. (He’s starting kindergarten…and you know what THAT means? Don’t blink!!!) Can you tell that this year’s party had a “Cars” theme?
Then comes our anniversary…has it really been 38 years? I was in Texas on “the day”; but when you’re married to your best friend, everyday is a celebration! We’ve been blessed! Seven amazing kids (OK…we started with four and THEY picked three more!), five unbelieveable grandsons, one incredible granddaughter…yes, we’re blessed!
And, of course, Dave’s birthday follows on 7/9. This year, Dave got a Happy Birthday gift certificate to Home Depot. It should come in handy with the new house. (Oh, and they have moved in…)
We have a little bit of a break in the middle of the month, but we always remember Mama Krnavek’s birthday on the 15th. It’s also the anniversary of Anna Mae’s passing. We know they’re holding places for the rest of us…
History was made this year on 7/24…Sponge Bob invaded our house on the eve of Lauren’s Birthday!!! I never thought it would happen…but there he was. Yes, another celebration even though the official one was on Sunday!
And then the “king” had his day… 7/27…but he says he’s not having birthdays anymore. I really don’t want to consider the implications there…just know he’s “aging gracefully”!
BUT WE’RE NOT FINISHED YET! Ah, yes, we move ever so slightly into August for JoJo’s birthday on 8/2. (He had a tractor party, but you’ll have to check with Karen for those pictures.) We can’t believe he’s already three; but, as Karen says, it’s believeable when you realize he has two younger brothers!
While it might be a hectic month, it reminds us how blessed we are. And there’s more to come…Karen and MawMaw in September, Kolbe and Jerome in October, then comes Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the New Year begins. (Oh, and then the rest of us have our celebrations!) How blessed are our days! Each one of them is a special celebration of life. We praise and thank You, Lord, for this precious gift of time!
Texas Wedding
We made it to the Carey-Wilson Wedding on July 10, 2010. Katie, Jan and the girls, plus Maw Maw and I made the trip to Plano. We arrived on Friday night after a tense trip in Texas rain. (That’s a story in itself!) Following a good night’s sleep, we made our way to Christ’s Church in Plano, TX. Out of respect, I didn’t take any pictures at the Church. I can tell you that the Wedding Liturgy was beautiful! This marriage started out with a beautiful blessing.
The reception was held at South Fork and it was amazing. I won’t detail all the special touches, there were too many. Between the hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer, candy table, picture booth, and barbecue dinner, we were able to visit so many people. Check out the Picasa Album for more of the pictures. http://picasaweb.google.com/krnaveks7872/07102010CareyWilsonWedding# Thank you, Terri and Scott, for sharing this beautiful day of celebration with all of us. It was SO MUCH FUN!
Congratulations, Kendra and Ryan!!! God’s blessing be with you as you begin your lives together.
Beartooth…Yellowstone…and Beyond!
We woke up yesterday morning and decided to take a day trip up the Beartooth… With a lunch, drinks, and great anticipation, we headed toward Red Lodge and up the Beartooth Highway! After the first stop at the Vista Point, we realized that jackets might have been a good idea…oh well, “cold don’t bother me”. We drove on past the West Summit which had considerable snow to Beartooth Lake. FYI: there’s not a lot of fishing and camping going on. Campgrounds are still closed. We encountered snow, sleet and rain…depending on how close the temperature got to 32 degrees.
Everything was so beautiful, we both wanted to keep going on. We stopped for coffee in Cooke City and went on to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone. We made one of the loops going to Canyon, then across to Norris, and out the north gate. We saw deer, elk, pronghorn, bison and a bear! Everything was green and lush. We had the pleasure of “smelling”, seeing, and traveling Yellowstone! On the way home, we checked out the river, no rafters on it yesterday. It was rockin’ and rollin’. Traveling home through Paradise Valley and then on the Interstate to Billings had us both thanking God for giving us this privilege of living here.
