Thanksgiving 2006
Our Thanksgiving was smaller and quieter than usual. Bernard took a day off from elk and deer hunting and Lauren came in from Bozeman. There were times we thought there would be more at the table, but it ended up just the four of us (you didn't think we'd forget Shiloh???!). I must say, while we missed all the visiting, we shared the day in spirit. It's nice to have time dedicated to saying thanks to the Lord for all our blessings. God paints with a color-filled brush!
Montana sunsets are usually full of color but there's something about the wintertime. Maybe it's the cool, crisp air that makes the colors pop. I haven't figured it out and don't really intend to–they're just here to appreciate and enjoy. Thought I'd share just one of these glorious events. The colors are NOT enhanced–this is what came out of the camera! A storm was coming and I'm sure there was lots of moisture in the air. The beauty of the sunlight as it changed hues just took your breath away and made me grab my camera.
Presidential Rally
Thanks to Dave you got an early picture of the Rally. Actually, the person marked wasn't me…I was sitting next to Cleve whose hat the President waved at the beginning of the Rally (he's the guy with his hand up high and I was standing next to him). So President Bush spoke at a campaign rally in Billings on behalf of Montana senator Conrad Burns and Representative Dennis Rehberg on Thursday. Mom was recently volunteering for Burns' campaign, so she got a pretty sweet spot right behind the president. These photos are from the Billings Gazette (with arrows by Dave). Evidently she made it onto Fox News and CNN, too…
