Christmas in Billings

  • December 25, 2006 6:21 pm

What a wonder-filled season is Christmas. Ours has been very special and it still holds more promise. It's amazing how limited we can be if we allow space and time to interfere. With phones and internet, we were able to keep in constant touch with ALL the kids–Claire and Craig in Australia; Dave and Laura in Puerto Rico; Karen, Jerome and Stephen in Colorado; and Lauren holding down the fort at home. Being together is ALWAYS a first choice, but this Christmas certainly proved that “long-distance” celebrations can be happy and holy. Here are just a few of the pictures of our Christmas in Billings.

Chase Hawks Memorial Rodeo

We've added something special to our holiday traditions–the Chase Hawks Memorial Rodeo. It's always an exciting evening here in Billings. It's a fund raiser for the Chase Hawks Foundation and has been supported by some VERY good cowboys! This year we shared it with friend: Rita and Stan, Ginny and Kevin. Here are some pictures from the evening.

Christmas Memories

Putting together the Christmas Card/ Newsletter this year was especially satisfying. I was able to use a picture that I consider a treasure. Here's the picture, the story follows.

Christmas 1983 was very special–we had a full house. Thinking we might use it for our Christmas card that year, I had the kiddos pose as Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the Christmas angel. That card must have become one of my “better late than never” endeavors so the picture never got used. This year I decided, why not!

I hope the picture brings a smile to your face, it certainly warms my heart. May we ever remain children in the sight of our Lord!

Christmas gifts are wonderful–especially when it's something you r-e-a-l-l-y want!!! Well, Bernard finally has his wish fulfilled. He can literally be an armchair quarterback, receiver, defensive end, kicker…well, you get the idea. Santa is a great guy! Really!
