MawMaw's 91st Birthday
She's quite the inspiration to us all.. Yes, MawMaw celebrated her 91st birthday this year. She had serenades at Olive Garden (twice) as well as a special serenade from Karen and the boys! We all took full advantage of the time with her and enjoyed several cakes in the process. If you follow the link on the picture below, there are a few additional pictures. Blessings on this next year, Mom.
Karkoska Reunion
The Karkoska Reunion is a great time to catch up with family! This year it was held on September 19 in Schwertner, TX. Over 100 people attended–we had such a great time! The barbecue was great, the auction was fantastic…but, most of all, the time spent visiting was PRICELESS! Here are a few pictures from the day.
ALS Dinner
The second annual ALS Dinner was quite the success. Lauren did a great job on the spaghetti and meatballs…and lots of letters of encouragement were collected for Mark as well as $775 for the ALS Walk. Thanks to all who came and to those who sent their letters. I'll be delivering the special package to Mark and his family this next week. Here are some of the pictures from the evening.
A teenager in the house!
It's official. We have a teenager in the house–or maybe outside. Shiloh Rose celebrated her 13th birthday this week. We had a little party for her–Lauren made a cake, got flowers, and had presents for her. I think she knew it was a special day. But…we'll let you decide. Here are a few pictures.
Montana Mini Vacation
It's been a wonderful summer–and I am ever thankful for every day. I have become much more aware of how “gifted” we are with this thing called time–and I thought I always had that appreciation. It's amazing how we take things for granted. Well, Bernard and I took a mini vacation through some parts of Montana we wanted to revisit. We've included some of the pictures that trigger wonderful memories for us…hope you enjoy them.
We started our trip in Great Falls, a city we've traveled through many times but never spent time spent much time. Our focus was on the Missouri River and the falls…the adventures of Lewis and Clark.
From Great Falls we drove north and east to Glacier National Park. If you've never been there, you're missing a beautiful part of the country. The seasons are changing but there are still wildflowers everywhere. We saw a bear (still wondering if it was a black or a grizzly) and lots of Rocky Mountain Goats. But, the most pleasant part of the trip was the spectacular scenery!
We completed our mini vacation in Columbia Falls at Meadow Lake Resort. There, Bernard played a round of golf with a Canadian couple and I enjoyed a foot massage! All in all, it was a wonderful vacation–something we will do again.
